Encouragement

Hebrews 3:13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

Looking around the world and listening to the story being spun by social media and the news outlets, it could be very easy to get discouraged. They really don’t tell a very good story, do they? But good news just doesn’t make money like bad news. So they tell the bad news, exaggerated and colored to make more money.

Our world is destined for failure. That is the outcome, but not the final word. This is what Advent is about: Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. The final word is one of hope, encouragement and renewal.

But we all need encouragement. This is a long journey, with many twists in the road. There are dark places and steep inclines. We must keep focused on our ultimate destiny. Otherwise we might get drawn in by sin and its lies. So many are believing them, it could be easy, and perhaps would be easier to just go with the flow.

That is why we need to make it a habit of encouraging each other in this walk of faith.

How are you doing with encouraging others?
