Getting Started with Mastering

So before we start a book we memorize this Acrostic Theme for the whole book, twenty seven Acrostics for the 27 books, each providing a quick summary of the contents of the book. Then as we read each chapter, about five chapters a week, we memorize the four word phase for the chapter. Then we review the phrases from the previous days until we have the Acrostic and all the four word phrases memorized.

I have built into the plan some free days, usually the weekends, for review and catch-up. I will give you guidance along the way about what previous books you should be reviewing as the year goes along to keep the Acrostic Themes and Phrases fresh in your mind. You are free to review as often as you like, or as time permits to keep things fresh in your mind.

Book Introductions

To help us understand what we are reading in each book, I will give some basic information about each book as we get ready to master that book. It will include:

Acrostic Theme:

Author:

Date Written:

Audience:

Key Verse:

Outline:

Chapter Phrase

As you read the chapter, keep the Acrostic Theme and the Chapter Phrase in mind. Look for elements of the chapter that fit the Phrase. Continue to keep looking at the elements in the chapter and joining the Phrase with the elements. The more you do this, the better your ability to remember where things are.

Tomorrow we will give some hints on memorizing that will help us Master the New Testament!
