There are rare moments in life when we get those three wishes that we read about in children’s books. We are asked by someone with the power, authority and resources what we want. I hope in that moment to not blow it. I spent time in my youth wondering what I would say to the genie. What would my three wishes be? I started with some pretty small and petty requests. Then I gradually progressed to some pretty sophisticated requests. I would now request that everyone in the world would have the opportunity to hear the Gospel and understand its live giving message, and have the freedom to respond to it. That is my number one wish. I still have not figured out my number two and three. If I got my number one wish, my life would be full. I have a loving family and the material stuffs that I need for daily life. I have relatively good health. I’m not sure what more I need. I might ask for healing for my wife, so that she is not reminded daily of her pain. But somehow that seems small and petty. Nehemiah was on a huge mission for the LORD. His request matched his mission. What is your mission? Is it big enough to warrant a big request? Maybe you need a bigger mission!
