47Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.
I love a church that has lots of down-and-out sinners. This is a church that is full of love. When someone has been at the bottom, and then they come to a relationship with Jesus and experience forgiveness and acceptance; that is an exciting place. When that happens, people can’t help but tell of all the good things Jesus is doing in their lives. But in a church that has only “cleaned up” saints, there is usually a lack of that excitement. This is just my observation over the last 30+ years. That is why I am not concerned about a little “mess” in the church. When people don’t quite know what is expected, that is OK. There needs to be a place where people who don’t quite fit in can fit in.
