18July 2011 2 Chronicles 15:12

12They entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul.

Wholehearted devotion is a wonderful thing. This is what makes marriages work for the long-haul. We all want someone who is “head over heals” in love with us. We don’t want someone who can “take it or leave it” with our love. We want it from others, but are we willing to give it as well? Everyone wants to feel that special, but far too few are willing to love in this “all or nothing” fashion. This is the kind of love with which the Lord loves us. It is also the kind of connection He wants us to have with Him. In fact, this is the kind of connection that makes us the best humans possible. The more we are connected to the Lord with this kind of devotion, the more we are able to step out and accomplish great things, eternal things. What is preventing you from “jumping in with both feet?” I want to encourage you to “take the plunge.” Give the Lord every part of you. Don’t hold back. He even wants the broken and smelly parts. And amazingly, He will bring something good out of pieces that we think are unusable.
