16July 2011 2 Chronicles 9:23

23All the kings of the earth sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.

Remember Solomon’s request? He had asked for wisdom, and wisdom had been given to him. We really need someone with Solomon type wisdom today, don’t we! We have lots of people with earthly wisdom running around telling others what to do. Many of them not following their own advice. The First Lady has been giving healthy food advice to the nation, but eats a lunch with over 1500 calories, almost a full day’s worth. And then she says moderation is the key. Where was her moderation? We have billionaires telling average folks about the impact of the economic hard times, but they don’t feel the hard times. In fact, many of the rich continue to get richer. Do you think their advice will help us? I have a feeling their advice is aimed at helping themselves. We have people telling us to just make peace with everyone, without facing the fact that some people don’t want peace. The problem lies in the fact that people with limited knowledge of themselves and of the world are making the decisions. Their limits become the problem. That is why God’s wisdom is needed. His wisdom has no limits. But in order to receive God’s wisdom, we must admit that we need it, which would mean we would have to admit that we need Him. And that is a step too far for a majority of the world’s inhabitants. Surrender starts with us. We must empty ourselves and allow the Lord to fill us. Then we are an empty position and the Lord’s wisdom has a place to rest. Maybe the Lord will use you to bring His wisdom to the world.
