Sometimes momentary split-second decisions have very long lasting effects. Reuben was the firstborn son and should have had the special privileges given to a son in that position in the family. But those were taken away when he rebelled against his father. Those rights and privileges were given to the youngest of the twelve sons instead. Are there decisions in your life that have taken away part of what could have been yours? I regret my drug and alcohol abuse as a teenager. Although I can relate to addicts today because I have been in their shoes, I would love to be able to go back and undo those decisions. I lied to my parents and lost their trust. I will always regret this. What are the things you will always regret? Maybe it is time to take these to the Lord and learn from them. They can be a motivation to make better decisions in the future. Guilt can be used to help us avoid evil. Are you willing to let the Lord use even the evil for good in your life?
