14“Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.
As I read this my heart stays “Amen,” but I know that many don’t feel this way. I think it is because they have never let the promises of God penetrate their heart and soul, maybe your heart and soul. Joshua’s final words to the leaders holds great promise, but we must let the promises sink deep into us and then trust them. We are often so quick to trust ourselves or anything else other than the Lord. It is OK to believe anything in this country except historical Christianity. You can even be a radical Muslim, get to be an expert on TV and spew your lies. That is OK. But stand up and say that Jesus is the only way… well, that is just intolerant. Are you letting the promises of God, His Word, find root in your soul, in the deepest part of your being?
