The Lord is always about forgiveness. If people who have turned and rebelled against the Lord return, then the Lord welcomes them back. The Lord does not hold grudges. He wants His people to be in right relationship with each other and with Himself. As you read this chapter you will have noticed that the punishments come and increase because they continue to stay hostile toward the Lord. The Lord uses the punishments as a tool to get them to turn around and yield their will to His. When they turn back, His love is there to bring healing.
