19Jan 2011 Genesis 41:46

46 Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaoh’s presence and traveled throughout Egypt.

Joseph was only thirty years old when he was put in charge of the management of the entire country of Egypt. If he failed at his job, the whole country would suffer and many would die. What a huge responsibility for such a young man. But Joseph had been in the process of being prepared by the Lord for this position for years. He had learned how to wait for God to be involved. He had learned not to rush in and try to get it accomplished too fast. He realized that time was not his enemy. I wish I could learn this lesson. I so often want to rush in and get in “fixed” right now. Wait?!? Not a chance. And yet this is exactly what Joseph learned to do. He had been in a foreign land since he was 17. Most of that time he was not doing what he wanted to do. He was a servant. He was having to work for a living. Stuck in prison for several years. But now he is in charge. Are you willing to be obedient even when the Lords seems to be taking too long?
