6 Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”
Laughter borne out of joy is a wonderful thing. This is what happens when the very old woman Sarah gives birth to her first child, a child of promise, a miracle child. There is a big difference between laughing with someone and laughing at someone. I am sure over the years other women had laughed at Sarah since she never had any children. I am sure she carried a great burden down though the years as she passed the age of childbearing. But now, because the Lord intervened, she has a son in her arms and at her breasts. A year earlier she had laughed when she heard the Lord tell Abraham that she was going to get pregnant. And now, she is laughing out of joy. Laugher of disbelief has turned into laughter of faith. Have you ever laughed in disbelief when you heard a promise of God? If you have, you are not alone. Get ready to laugh in faith. God is faithful to His Word. Get ready to see His hand at work.
