27 Altogether, Methuselah lived 969 years, and then he died.
Old age is always seen as a blessing in the Scriptures. That is why I always cringe when people say they don’t want to live to a really old age. I see old age as a real blessing. I have a couple of relatives who lived beyond 100 years old. We have such an aversion to the dying process that we will avoid that process even if it means a shortened life. Methuselah is the oldest person recorded in the Scriptures. It is a blessing to be old, even if you have some physical or even mental slowdowns. I always feel a blessing when I am with my elders. They have so much to offer me. Their wisdom is worth any physical or mental slowdown. Are you willing to let God work through you in your old age?
