11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
When we have a living, personal, experiential knowledge of the Lord, then His strength will enable us to endure and have patience. We won’t run out of steam in the middle of a struggle. His strength will be there to fill up our tank with the same power that He demonstrated on the Cross. We will be able to endure. We will be able to act with patience. Wow, I always wondered how to get more patience. When I get to know Him more, I will have the patience I need. And as a result of strengthening, we will be joyous in our giving thanks. Our worship will be overflowing with thankfulness. We will realize all the work He did on our behalf. We are now qualified to enter His Kingdom. In fact, we have already entered it, even though we don’t fully see it yet. As we walk day by day, one act of faith to the next, we show that we are sharing in His inheritance. Light shines in the darkness of this world, and we are the light bulb. The light bulb cannot shine on its own. It needs a power source. Until the electricity passes through the filament, the bulb is dark. But once the current flows, light shines forth. So it is with us as believers. As we get to know Him personally, and experience His forgiveness and acceptance, then we live lives that demonstrate His character to the world. His grace flows through us and that grace shines like a light in a world of condemnation and unforgiveness. The Gospel is the hope of the world. Forgiveness that is experienced changes us and changes the world. Let God’s power work in you today. His light wants to shine. Are you ready for the Lord to work in you?
