2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
We have all been given a trust. Each of us has time, talent and treasure. These are all provided as a result of the grace of God. We must use them faithfully. That is what God requires. Our days are so few here on this earth. The older I get, the more aware of this fact I have become. I am also in the military and I deal with loss and death all too frequently. Our days are few, so we must make the most of those we have. Do we use our talent in a way that brings glory to God, or do we use it for our personal benefit and the accolades that follow? As we have seen with the financial turmoil, our treasure is also fleeting. What we think is a sure bet turns out to be nothing more than a shell game. We must be faithful. Time, talent and treasure must all be used in a way that brings glory to God. That is the bottom line. In the business world they have switched to “just in time” style. Instead of carrying a large inventory on the books, they have switched to keeping a razor thin inventory that gets replenished “just in time.” Each element in the process must work correctly in order for the whole system to work. Each must be faithful to their part of the whole, or the whole will fail. We are each given a small part of God’s plan. We are each given time, talent and treasure. We must use those in a way that meets the delivery timeline of our Master. He is counting on us to do our part. We must be faithful to do our part.
