9Dec2008 Rev 11:15

15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

There will be a point in time when what is reality in heaven will be manifested here on earth. Right now Jesus permits world rulers to act in their own self-interest. Nations don’t pursue righteousness and justice for their people. Some regimes are utterly corrupted by the pleasures of sin. They are only in it for themselves. They take advantage of their own people, depriving them of some of the basic necessities of life while they live high on the hog. At a point in time Jesus will sit as the ruler of the world. All earthly rulers will be dethroned. Elected officials will become unelected. There will be only one authority that matters. God Himself will exercise control on earth. Justice will happen, no excuses accepted. For those who do the right things during this time, it will be fantastic. For those who continue to do evil, it will be unbearable. Every infraction of righteousness will be immediately known and punished. Jesus doesn’t need a huge command center with computer monitored video surveillance cameras in every corner across the world. He doesn’t need a huge enforcement division on handheld devices ready to move at a moment’s notice. He is God. He has the power within Himself to enforce justice. He uses angels for some tasks outlined here in the book of Revelation, but He doesn’t need to use them. He placed all the stars in their trajectories. He set the DNA code for the spots on a leopard and the petals of a rose. Enforcing rule will be no problem for Him. But this is simply the beginning of the transition from earth as the center of focus in the universe to a new heaven and earth being the focal point. When the full rule of Jesus begins on earth it signals the end of the old rule. The era of sin is drawing to a close. Righteousness is beginning to take over. In some respects the transition has already begun in our lives. We are saying ‘no’ to sin and ‘yes’ to righteousness. We are submitting ourselves more and more to the reign of Jesus. This is the process called sanctification. Are you moving toward righteousness in your life? Are you saying ‘no’ to sin and ‘yes’ to righteousness?
