7Dec2008 Rev 10:7

7 But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.

There is coming a day when all the prophecies of the whole Bible will be fulfilled. Right now, however, there are some promises and future events that have not taken place. All tears are not wiped away. But those are not the mystery of God. The mystery of God is the redemption of humankind through the birth, life and death of Jesus and what that accomplishes when He comes and lives “in us”. The mystery is that God makes a place of dwelling in our lives. Since God is everywhere, including the non-believer’s body, there is something more than physical presence that is talked about in the Scriptures. This mystery is that we can have a relationship with God that is intimate, just like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. We can walk with God in the cool of the evening. We can live at peace, no fear needed. There can be a contentment and a lack of striving that exists in a Jesus-follower’s life. The toil and struggle that is part of the curse was removed when we became a Jesus-follower. We are just waiting for all that is promised to be fulfilled. We don’t have our glorified body yet. We still experience pain and sorrow. We still are haunted by some of our memories. But someday, the time referred to in this verse, that process will be complete. Everything that remains in us as part of the Garden curse will be removed. Nothing of this sinful existence will be present. The mystery will no longer be a mystery. It will be a fully revealed reality. This can bring us hope. Even though we experience sin and its consequences now, there is a day coming when God will all those remnants of sin. God will reveal everything Jesus accomplished on our behalf. God will take away any remaining scales from our eyes, fix any brokenness and bring full restoration of our person. We will experience the completeness found in Jesus.
