3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

It is so easy to complicate this journey of faith. Every day someone invents a new way they think you can get happiness. Most of the time the motive is money; they want to sell some book or seminar. There are glowing testimonies about its effectiveness to cure the ills of mankind. How can we live without this untested-by-time solution to time-tested problems? You see the problems that plague us are almost universal. I say almost because, a hundred years ago hard drives didn’t crash. But I digress. The problems that we seek permanent answers to have been the same across time. There have always been interpersonal problems, fights with neighbors, teenage children, the loud and obnoxious passerby. We have always struggled with our internal battle to live up to our own standards, to not judge others, to live consistent lives, to forgive those who hurt us, to find meaning and purpose for our existence. These same questions have been mulled in the minds of all humans. That is part of what makes us human; we ask this type of question. And we are never satisfied with the answer that is before us. We want to invent some more difficult way to accomplish what has already been accomplished in Jesus. We do that because to admit that Jesus accomplished it already would mean we must admit we are sinners in need of a savior, that we are limited in power and influence, that we are human and He is God. But if we keep inventing new ways to answer the questions, then we can stay inside our self-important bubble. But the answers have been provided already. They are simple. God has provided. What are the questions you are having currently? Where are you seeking answers?
