1 Corinthians 1:25

25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

There have been a number of movies lately about superhuman superheroes. They blend into the crowd, but when their power is needed, zaam, they are there to meet the evil face to face and defeat it, after a special-effects battle of course. The superheroes’ character emerged from underneath their exterior. The comparison to God is comical. God is on such a different scale, such a different magnitude, that to even try to describe the wisdom He has in himself or the strength he possesses is laughable. Remember, He knows the mysteries of DNA, the role of black matter in the universe, what is in a black hole. He knows the mechanics of all cancers, Parkinsons, Alzheimer’s, Autism. He knows exactly what will happen every moment that time exists without a “Find” command. Even to try to discuss this issue belies our limited knowledge. He has whole realms of knowledge that are totally absent from our experience. And yet we still believe that we can compete with God and that we will win. God’s dumbest thought is greater than our smartest, His greatest weakness than our greatest strength. Like a five year old competing in a backyard wrestling match with is NLF linebacker father, the kid doesn’t stand a chance, unless his dad feigns weakness. When Jesus was on the cross, he didn’t use His strength, he chose to allow weak sin to press him to the ground and kill Him. Remember sin had no power over Him. Death had no right to his life. He chose death to give victory to his children, we who trust in Him.
