10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
We all need a good friend or two, someone who will be there for you no matter what happens. For men, it is often your spouse. Ladies usually have a larger support network than men. I want to encourage each of us to build a larger network of devotion, of mutual support, of serving the needs of the other. Richness in life comes not from the stuff we accumulate, but from the relationship we cultivate along the way. The biggest obstacle is ourselves. Paul has the key when he writes that we must honor above ourselves. A picture of this is when a man holds a door for a woman. He is honoring her by providing free access. Of course in some parts of the world, that would be dishonoring. A woman would never enter a room first unless she was of questionable character. Give someone the place of honor today. Take the lower seat.
