Romans 8:19

19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.

Creation is poised on the edge of its seat. The stars, rocks, plants and the vastness of space all spill over their seats. A hush falls over the resplendent audience as they peer over the balcony as humanity takes center stage. They are waiting for the curtain to rise of the final act, the culmination of their existence. They groan as humanity takes their first stumbling, fatal steps into disobedience. All the previously planned backdrops and sliding sets have to be changed. They go from lush supply to labor and toil. And yet, they still sit poised, trapped in the drama, knowing that the final act will put things as they should have been all along. Members of this audience get dragged on stage and are forced to play parts in this painful saga. As the pain of disobedience becomes more and more evident, the audience joins in the groaning of the actors. They can’t wait for that final act. The music swells, the lights begin to change and then wham, the final act begins.
