As I was watching Antiques road Show on PBS the other night I had a vision of the person who sold for a few dollars the object worth tens of thousands! They were either very generous, or they had no clue of the objects true worth. I bet after seeing the episode where their formerly-owned object is valued at thousands of times what they thought, they would love to buy it back at the price they sold it. I am sure they would be happy to pay back twice what they had received. They might even pay 100 times their profit just to get it back in their possession. Once the value is recognized, payment would be generous. God recognized our value from the beginning. He made us and put us in the perfect place, totally furnished and fully stocked. But when we choose to reject intimacy with Him, he closed the door on that intimacy and we shut Him out. God never lowered our intrinsic value, but set a plan in motion to buy us back from our own devalued self-appraisal of our worth. We had sold ourselves to the lowest bidder, and God would pay the ultimate price to get us back.
