Romans 3:2

Do you remember ever loosing something given to you to pass along to someone else? Maybe it was lunch money for your sibling, the field-trip permission slip, or that phone message. We have all dropped the ball in our passing-on responsibilities. But what is our greatest responsibility as Christ-followers? Are we failing to pass on the very message of grace that brought us from death to life? Every word spoken, every deed done should be permeated with Jesus. That doesn’t mean every sentence gets punctuated with an “Amen,” but it does mean that our character should mirror His. He loved even his enemies. He was kind to the broken. He touched those deemed by His society to be untouchable. His words were filled with eternity. His conversations drew people to decision points. He took strong stands against evil, even when the definition of evil got him in trouble. He offended those who needed to be offended in order to push them off their comfortable centers, to unbalance them. He rocked the boat. If we are walking through life circumspectly, carefully avoiding all conflict, moving gently around ‘prickly’ people, perhaps today is the day to get out the tweezers and do a little surgery. Don’t be afraid to ruffle a few feathers by your kindness.
